DALLAS, May 24, 2012 -- Patricia Stanton, a leading commercial real estate lawyer, has been named Partner in Charge of the Dallas office of Baker Botts L.L.P., effective July 1 of this year. She will succeed Jack Kinzie, who oversaw the tremendous growth and success of the office since 1998.

Stanton is the Firmwide Real Estate Section Chair, as well as the Dallas office Global Projects Department Chair. During her 26 years with the firm, she has represented owners, investors and developers of commercial real estate in the United States and internationally. She represents sponsors in the formation of real estate funds and developers in nearly every aspect of commercial real estate development including land acquisition, negotiation of tenant leases, structuring and negotiation of debt and equity financing and construction contracts and management agreements. These projects include first-class office buildings, hotels, condominiums, major retail centers and mixed-use properties.

“Pat’s complex transactional practice, along with her knowledge and experience, is a true compliment to the Dallas office,” said Baker Botts’ Managing Partner Andrew M. Baker. "She is also the first woman to be named Dallas Partner in Charge and the second to hold a managerial position at this level at the firm."

Stanton earned her law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, where she was an editor of the Cleveland State Law Review. In addition to her experience at Baker Botts, Stanton has held many leadership positions within the Dallas community. She is a past Chairman of the Board for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, and has served on the Board of Directors for Commercial Real Estate Women, serving as president in 1996, and on the Board of Trustees for the Dallas Women’s Foundation.

"The tradition of providing exceptional service to our clients will continue to be upheld through all efforts of the Dallas office,” said Stanton. “I look forward to this leadership role.”

Dallas is home to more than 130 Baker Botts lawyers. Since its opening in 1985, the office has grown into a major force in North Texas providing sophisticated legal services to a wide variety of public and private businesses, including many Fortune 500 companies and other major enterprises in the energy, technology and life science sectors. Lawyers in the firm's Dallas office have been recognized by Chambers USA, Chambers Global, Who’s Who Legal and D Magazine.
