WASHINGTON, D.C. – May 30, 2012 - The law firm of Troutman Sanders LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Glenn B. Manishin to its Antitrust practice group in Washington, D.C.

Prior to joining Troutman Sanders, Manishin was a partner at Duane Morris LLP. He was also previously a partner at Kelley Drye & Warren LLP and Patton Boggs LLP.

At Troutman Sanders, Manishin’s complex litigation practice will concentrate principally in the areas of antitrust, telecommunications and technology policy. Manishin has nearly three decades of significant experience in high-tech litigation, with an emphasis on the impact of convergence and legal uncertainty between legacy industries and the new economy. He is the only antitrust lawyer to have served as counsel-of-record in the two most significant monopolization cases of the last generation, United States v. AT&T Co. and United States v. Microsoft Corp. Manishin has also represented major software and Internet-centric companies in policy matters involving such varied issues as domain name competition, standards, cybersecurity, privacy, intellectual property, broadband access, universal service, Internet regulation and spam.

Manishin has served as lead trial and appellate counsel in numerous high-profile cases arising out of regulation and competition in network effects markets and on the interface between intellectual property and competition law. These include a landmark 2004 appellate reversal of the FCC's media concentration rules, the largest reported jury verdict in Maryland in 2005, and the first federal litigation challenging the regulated status of VoIP technology.

Manishin received a J.D. from the Columbia University, where he graduated in 1981, and received a B.A. from Brandeis University in 1977. He is admitted to practice Washington, D.C., California and Virginia
