LOS ANGELES and SAN FRANCISCO – January 22, 2013 – Edgcomb Law Group, LLP (ELG) is pleased to announce the addition of two new partners, Nancy Wilms and Tiffany Hedgpeth, and the opening of the firm’s first Southern California office. Ms. Wilms and Ms. Hedgpeth, formerly partners at Bingham McCutchen in Los Angeles, will join the firm as partners and spearhead the opening of ELG’s new office in Burbank, Calif.

“Joining forces with Nancy and Tiffany and adding a Southern California office marks a major milestone for Edgcomb Law Group as a firm and for me personally,” said John Edgcomb, who founded ELG in San Francisco in 1995. “Our diverse client-base is national in scope, and having a Los Angeles office and two more former big-law attorneys will help us serve our clients at a new level, but with the same emphasis on cost-effectiveness.”

Ms. Wilms and Ms. Hedgpeth have spent 16 and 15 years, respectively, in Bingham’s Los Angeles environmental group, each having joined from environmental litigation groups at other national law firms. Ms. Wilms’ practice focuses on managing large, complex environmental litigation matters and defending clients against citizen’s suits brought under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and the Clean Water Act (CWA).  Ms. Wilms was also recently appointed to the City of South Pasadena’s Natural Resources and Environmental Commission.

“I worked with John for over four years on a highly contested, complex environmental case, and with Tiffany for more than a decade on a wide variety of matters,” commented Nancy Wilms. “I am confident our personalities and combined talents will create a dynamic force in the environmental litigation field.”

Ms. Hedgpeth’s practice also focuses on environmental litigation. In addition to cases brought pursuant to environmental statutes, her client work frequently involves litigating breach of contract disputes.  In 2009, Ms. Hedgpeth was recognized by the Los Angeles Business Journal as one of Los Angeles’ Top 100 Lawyers.

“ELG’s boutique size, and the attorneys’ impressive breadth of experience, allows the firm to provide major clients with exceptional and cost effective legal services,” said Tiffany Hedgpeth. “The opportunity here is clear and I’m excited to be a part of the firm’s expansion.”

Ms. Wilms received her bachelor’s from Pomona College (1980) and her J.D. from University of California, Hastings School of Law (1983). Ms. Hedgpeth received her bachelor’s degree from University of California, Davis, with high honors (1991), and her J.D. from University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law (1994).
