Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP is pleased to announce that James C. Woolery has joined the firm as Deputy Chairman of the Firm and Co-Chair of our Corporate Department. This is an important addition to the Firm, allowing it to continue to fashion practical business solutions to clients’ increasingly complex legal challenges.

Jim is one of the country’s leading advisors on mergers and acquisitions. He has been involved in some of the seminal M&A transactions in recent history, including Dell Inc.’s definitive agreement to be acquired by Michael S. Dell and Silver Lake, Medco’s merger with Express Scripts, Air Products’ public tender offer and proxy fight for Airgas, and Clorox’s successful defense against Carl Icahn.

Jim joins Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP from JPMorgan Chase & Co. where he was co-head of North American Mergers and Acquisitions. Prior to joining JPMorgan in 2011, Jim spent his career at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, where he established and led Cravath’s Business Development and Strategy Grouphteax.
