NEW YORK (March 11, 2013)DLA Piper announced today that Paul R. Gupta has joined the firm’s Litigation and Intellectual Property and Technology practices as a partner in New York.

Gupta focuses on intellectual property, information technology, cyber-security, privacy and business litigation in the technology sector. He has advised Fortune 500 and leading tech companies across a range of matters, from patent and licensing litigation to employment class actions.

“Paul is a nationally recognized litigator who has worked extensively in New York as well as Silicon Valley,” said Richard Hans, chair of DLA Piper’s Litigation practice in New York. “This broad market perspective and ability to work with clients across the tech sector in the full range of contentious matters will make him an ideal complement to what is already one of the world’s deepest litigation benches.”

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Gupta served as a partner in the New York and Silicon Valley offices of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. A frequent industry speaker, he serves on the board of the Information Systems Security Association and on the advisory boards of Bloomberg BNA’s Computer Technology Law Report and Electronic Commerce & Law Report.  Gupta is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Yale University.
