Barnes & Thornburg LLP’s aggressive growth in Atlanta continues with the addition of Peter Spanos as a partner in the Labor & Employment Law Department.

Spanos represents and counsels management in employment litigation and traditional labor law, serving nationwide clients in a wide range of industries that include manufacturing, construction, health care, financial services, nonprofits, real estate, transportation and consulting, among others. He is experienced in a broad range of labor and employment concerns, including: employment policies and procedures; Fair Labor Standards Act collective actions; wrongful termination and employment discrimination lawsuits; wage and hour law; whistleblower claims; executive employment and non-competes; unfair competition and trade secrets; collective bargaining; union organizing, elections, unfair labor practices, and strikes; and labor relations aspects of antitrust laws.

“Peter’s practical, hands-on and client-focused approach fits well with the culture we have worked so hard to build and maintain over the years,” said Stuart Johnson, managing partner of Barnes & Thornburg’s Atlanta office. “His arrival also continues our commitment to provide clients with a value-driven approach to legal services that our firm has introduced to the Atlanta market.

Spanos is the latest attorney to join Barnes & Thornburg’s growing Atlanta office, which recently added James Robinson to the firm’s Corporate Department and Private Wealth Services Practice Group. With Spanos’ arrival, the office has increased its attorney ranks to 23 since opening in 2009.

“Peter’s experience across a wide range of issues will be extremely helpful to our clients and adds depth to our Atlanta office,” said Kenneth J. Yerkes, chair of the firm’s national Labor & Employment Law Department. “Coupled with existing L&E Atlanta partners John Koenig and John Meyers, we believe we can provide our clients any service from that office, both regionally and nationally.”
