INDIANAPOLIS – Barnes & Thornburg announced today that it is boosting its national Labor & Employment Law Department with the addition of veteran Indianapolis attorney Jeffery Mallamad. 
 


Mallamad, who had since 1990 chaired the labor & employment practice group at Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP, defends employers against a variety of lawsuits filed in federal and state courts and administrative agencies. He counsels C-suite executives on issues related to hiring packages, compensation, stock positions, benefits and severance. He also handles complex OSHA matters involving serious work accidents. In addition, Mallamad has represented some of Indiana’s largest employers in union avoidance, union-management relations and collective bargaining matters.

About Jeffery Mallamad



Mallamad’s labor and employment practice involves counseling clients on hiring, firing, state and federal wage and hour laws, defense of discrimination claims, complex OSHA matters, employee benefits, and employment policies and procedures ranging from leave issues and personnel records to background checks and other pre-employment inquiries. Mallamad also provides guidance on employment-related tax scenarios and the evaluation of various C-suite executive compensation issues.
 


Prior to his private-practice experience, Mallamad served as a U.S. EEOC Regional Attorney in Denver, where he supervised federal civil rights litigation for a six-state western region.
 


Mallamad is a member of several professionals associations, including the American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, and bar associations in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. 
His honors include being named a 2013 Top Rated Lawyer in Labor & Employment by Martindale-Hubbell™ in conjunction with American Lawyer Media Law Review, and recognition in the Case Western Reserve School of Law Hall of Fame (Society of Benchers).
 


Mallamad earned his law degree in 1979 from Case Western Reserve School of Law where he was a member of the Law Review. He was a 1975 cum laude graduate of the University of Toledo.
 


He is admitted to practice in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana.
