Las Vegas, NV (December 2, 2013) - Lionel Sawyer & Collins attorney Marla J. Hudgens has been elected to a one year term as the Chair-Elect of the Appellate Litigation Section of the State Bar of Nevada. In this role, she will support the current Section Chair and succeed her in this office in September, 2014. The Appellate Litigation section of the state bar is committed to improving appellate advocacy in Nevada by providing extensive educational programs and other resources to enhance the roles and skills of lawyers engaged in this practice area.

Ms. Hudgens also serves as the co-chair of the Liaison Committee of the Appellate Litigation Section and has been nominated by her colleagues to serve as the Section’s representative on the Nevada Supreme Court’s Bench-Bar Committee for the current year.

Marla Hudgens has been a member of the Firm’s Litigation Department since 2011. In addition to her interest in all aspects of civil and commercial appeals, her practice emphasis is primarily in the areas of commercial and business litigation. She is a 2008 cum laude graduate of the William S. Boyd School of Law, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she received an academic achievement award in civil procedure and federal courts and was a member of the Society of Advocates’ appellate moot court team. Prior to joining Lionel Sawyer & Collins, she served as a judicial law clerk for then-Chief Justice Hardesty of the Nevada Supreme Court.
