(HOUSTON) December 12, 2013 – Rick Staff, who began his career at Locke Lord LLP, has rejoined the Firm as a Partner in the Litigation Department and Energy Litigation Practice Group.

Staff has extensive experience in the corporate and energy sectors, and is well known and respected, particularly in the oilfield services community. Though his practice predominantly focuses on energy and commercial litigation, he also has experience in a wide variety of areas, including labor & employment, fiduciary duties, intellectual property and product liability. A member of the Houston Bar Association and American Bar Association, Staff is admitted to practice in both Texas and New Mexico.

Staff comes to Locke Lord from Houston-based Harrison Bettis Staff McFarland LLP, a firm he co-founded in 1997. Prior to that, Staff was a Partner at Liddell, Sapp, Zivley, Hill & LaBoon LLP, which through a series of mergers, became the current-day Locke Lord.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Rick back at Locke Lord,” said Houston Managing Partner Ken Simon. “Rick is a first-class guy – a great litigator who is well-known in the Houston community. His skills will enhance our Firm’s capabilities domestically and internationally.”

Staff earned his J.D. at the University of Houston, where he graduated cum laude in 1988, and his bachelor of journalism, cum laude, from the University of Texas.
