January 23, 2014 – DLA Piper announced today that Anne Friedman has joined the firm’s Technology, Sourcing and Commercial practice as of counsel in the firm’s Los Angeles office.

Friedman focuses her practice on constructing and negotiating large-scale technology and sourcing transactions, concentrating on international and domestic application development and maintenance, infrastructure, general information technology, and business process outsourcings.  Her practice spans various industries with significant experience in the hospitality, health care, and financial services sectors.

“Anne’s vast work with Fortune 500 companies in varying industries will deepen the firm’s already robust roster of global sourcing and technology law professionals,” said Vinny Sanchez, US chair of DLA Piper’s Technology, Sourcing and Commercial practice. “Her extensive experience as a premier sourcing and technology transactions attorney makes her a terrific asset to our clients.”

Friedman joins DLA Piper from Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP where she was based in both the Washington, DC, and Los Angeles offices.  As a member of the bar of the District of Columbia and the state bars of California and New York, Anne will expand the already broad geographic reach of the Technology, Sourcing and Commercial group’s growing national practice.

“In addition to Anne’s impressive skill set in handling technology and sourcing matters, she has been very active in providing pro bono legal services, which complements our office’s mission of supporting the greater Los Angeles community,” said Perrie Weiner, co-managing partner of DLA Piper’s Los Angeles area offices. “We look forward to her contributions in providing sophisticated services on behalf of our clients.”

Friedman earned a J.D., cum laude, from Tulane Law School and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
