SHOOK, HARDY & BACON EXPANDS TO DENVER WITH ADDITION OF SEASONED COMMERCIAL TRIAL ATTORNEYS

Denver, Colo.—The attorneys and staff of boutique commercial litigation firm Sander, Ingebretsen & Wake, P.C. (SIW) of Denver, Colorado, will join Shook, Hardy & Bacon L.L.P. (SHB) on June 1, 2014, to open an SHB Denver office as the firm continues to broaden its national reach.  The Denver office follows SHB’s recent office openings in Seattle, Wash., (December 2013) and Philadelphia, Pa. (August 2012).  Perhaps best known for its product liability and intellectual property practices, SHB has been steadily growing its national presence in complex commercial litigation.

Kirk Ingebretsen, Richard “Chip” Sander, Dan Wake and Dan Rohner bring decades of combined experience in complex commercial trial and appellate practice in many areas of the law, including banking/financial services, employment, insurance, corporate governance and securities.  SIW was selected as a 2014 Tier 1 Best Law Firm by U.S. News & World Report in the fields of commercial litigation and securities/capital markets law, and its client roster already includes some of the largest companies in the United States.

“These attorneys are a talented group and will mesh well with our firm culture and client value-driven philosophy,” said SHB Chair John Murphy.  “Their experience in complex commercial litigation immediately adds depth to SHB’s trial bench and will help us serve our clients more effectively.  We are excited to open an office in Denver and become a more integral part of the Denver community.”

According to Kirk Ingebretsen, SHB’s new Denver office managing partner, “SHB, like us, works with clients in a hands-on way to provide client-focused, practical solutions to meet their needs.  The firm’s reputation for high-quality representation and great results at an exceptional value is something we admire and is why we got onboard.”

“Having worked with SHB lawyers on cases for many years, I know the firm’s stellar reputation is well founded,” said Chip Sander.  “We are excited to join SHB and help grow its national practice in commercial litigation.”  Sander also noted, “We look forward to SHB’s flexible, cost-effective staffing model. SHB’s back-office litigation support will allow us to more effectively handle larger scale cases, and the firm’s administrative support will free up our time to focus more on clients, which is what we love doing.”

The Denver team adds depth and breadth to the firm’s existing complex commercial litigation practice, including banking/financial services, real estate, insurance, and employment/trade secret, and securities litigation experience.  SHB Denver also offers new opportunities to provide client services in corporate governance, bankruptcy, tax, data privacy & security, intellectual property, agribusiness/food safety, as well as energy, natural resources, and regulatory practices.

In total, seven attorneys and staff will join SHB with this move.  “SHB is pleased to welcome aboard Kirk, Chip and the whole Denver team, and we look forward to working with them to grow broader and deeper relationships with our clients,” Murphy added.  “This is an exciting time for our firm.”
