NEW YORK, June 23, 2014 — Goodwin Procter, a national Am Law 50 firm, announced today that Edwin M. O’Connor has joined the firm as a partner in its Technology & Life Sciences Group in its New York City office. O’Connor comes to Goodwin from Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where he focused on capital markets transactions. He was previously a vice president in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co.

O’Connor advises across a broad range of public and private corporate finance transactions, representing issuers and underwriters in the United States and internationally. With a particular focus on capital markets transactions in the tech and clean tech sectors, O’Connor concentrates his practice on initial public offerings, follow-on equity offerings, investment grade, high-yield and convertible debt offerings and offerings of preferred, hybrid and derivative securities.

“We are thrilled Edwin has elected to join Goodwin as we continue building upon the success of our growing capital markets presence in New York,” said Regina M. Pisa, chairman of Goodwin Procter.

“Edwin’s market knowledge and experience on the underwriting side, coupled with his investment banking background, make him a valuable resource for our technology company clients,” said John J. Egan, III co-chair of Goodwin’s Technology & Life Sciences Group.

O’Connor received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his B.A. in economics from Colgate University. He is admitted to practice in New York. He can be reached at 212.813.8853 or eoconnor@goodwinprocter.com.
