LOS ANGELES (July 14, 2014) – Foley & Lardner LLP announced today that Chris Laukenmann has joined the firm’s Finance & Financial Institutions, Transactional & Securities, and Private Equity & Venture Capital Practices as a partner in the Los Angeles office.

For more than two decades, Laukenmann has advised Fortune 500, middle market and emerging growth companies on capital, investment, structure, governance, corporate strategy, treasury, risk management, reorganization and regulatory matters. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, securities, finance, private equity, venture capital, general corporate, restructuring and regulatory compliance across industries.

Earlier in his career, Laukenmann was assistant general counsel for Transamerica and its merger partner Aegon, where he was responsible for the company’s asset management division, including structured and financial derivative product development, financial institution regulation and day-to-day operational legal issues. Previously, Laukenmann served as vice president/legal of Great Western Bank and its successors, culminating in the WaMu banking consolidation, where he oversaw a broad range of banking, finance, real estate, brokerage, insurance, deposit and mortgage based transactional, regulatory, and risk management/compliance matters.
