MIAMI—Miranda Lundeen Soto has joined the Miami office of Shook, Hardy & Bacon L.L.P. as a partner in the Global Product Liability Group.

Miranda comes to the firm from Hamilton, Miller & Birthisel where her trial practice focused on the defense of personal injury cases, premises liability, commercial disputes, and legal malpractice claims.  She has also served as lead in-house counsel for a major insurance carrier that recognized her with a Distinguished Performance Award.  Miranda has provided legal opinions to CNN News and actively promotes diversity in the legal profession.

Admitted to practice before the state courts of Florida and in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, Miranda received her J.D. from the Drake University School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Alabama.  She began her legal career as an assistant state attorney with the Miami-Dade County Prosecutor’s office where she was promoted to Division Chief in the Juvenile Division.  Miranda was recognized as a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2014, and was named to Florida’s Legal Elite by Florida Trend in 2011.

“Miranda is well known to one of our major client's in house attorneys who are delighted that she has agreed to join our team,” said SHB Miami Managing Partner Bill Geraghty. “We believe that her considerable courtroom skills will complement and enhance the exceptional service our industry clients have come to rely on.”
