Washington, D.C., 27 October, 2014 – Hogan Lovells announced today that Aaron Cutler, formerly the Senior Advisor for Policy and Outreach for the Office of the Majority Leader Eric Cantor, will join the firm’s Legislative group as a partner.

Cutler’s practice will focus on traditional advocacy and political intelligence. He has diverse experience having worked directly with several industry sectors including banking, real estate, financial services, energy and environment, telecommunications, technology, and tobacco.

“Aaron brings a wealth of experience and a unique perspective as a former Wall Street transactional lawyer with both Committee and Leadership senior staff Capitol Hill experience,” said Mike House, Director of Hogan Lovells’ Legislative group. “His policy experience on Capitol Hill combined with his relationships on Wall Street will bring a unique set of attributes to Hogan Lovell’s legislative and corporate practices.”

Cutler served as the Leader’s liaison to the House Committees on Financial Services, Natural Resources, and Energy & Commerce. Prior to serving as the Senior Advisor for Policy and Outreach, Cutler acted as the Deputy Policy Director and Counsel for the Energy and Commerce Committee. He advised Chairman Upton and Members on policy within the Committee’s jurisdiction with a focus on energy policy as well as gained valuable telecom and cybersecurity policy experience.

“I am very excited to be joining Hogan Lovells. The firm has one of the most highly respected legislative groups on Capitol Hill,” said Cutler. “I look forward to utilizing my previous government involvement at the firm to collaborate with and work alongside well-recognized leaders in the space.”

Cutler received his J.D. from University of Michigan Law School and his B.A. in Political Science from The George Washington University.
