DENVER, CO (March 9, 2015) Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing workplace law firms, is pleased to announce Ryan P. Lessmann has been elevated to Managing Shareholder of the firm’s Denver office. Mr. Lessmann succeeds Mickey Silberman, who will devote himself full-time to his role as Leader of the firm’s growing Affirmative Action Compliance & OFCCP Defense Practice Group.

“Mickey, one of the nation’s leaders in the area of OFCCP audit defense, opened our Denver office in 2007 with four attorneys,” said Firm Chairman Vincent A. Cino.  “Under his leadership, the office expanded to over 20 attorneys, providing litigation and counseling in traditional labor and employment matters as well as in specialized areas such as EEO systemic discrimination, litigation statistics, workplace safety and health, and wage and hour class action litigation. We thank Mickey for his many contributions to the office – including hiring future leaders such as Ryan - and support his decision to focus on the continued growth of our Affirmative Action Compliance & OFCCP Defense group.”

“For the entirety of his tenure at Jackson Lewis, Ryan has demonstrated a commitment to the success of our Denver office and earned the confidence of colleagues and clients alike,” continued Cino.  “He has strong ties to the Denver legal community and is well-known throughout the region as a skilled litigator and excellent client advocate - and he has developed strong management skills in his role as office Litigation Manager since the start of 2013. We are excited about his vision for expanding the firm’s regional footprint and confident the office will continue to thrive under his management.”

Mr. Lessmann, who has been selected as a Rising Star by Colorado Super Lawyers since 2010, practices primarily in the area of employment litigation, including representing employers against claims alleging discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination, matters involving trade secret protection, restrictive covenants and unfair competition, and various contract issues. He also regularly counsels and defends employers in wage and hour compliance matters.

“As I approach my eighth year with Jackson Lewis, I am excited and honored to take on this new role,” said Lessmann. “Mickey has been an outstanding leader and I look forward to building on his efforts while creating new opportunities for the Denver office locally and nationally.”

Mr. Lessmann received his B.A. from DePauw University and his J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law, where he was Articles Editor of the Colorado Journal of Public Policy and Environmental Affairs. After graduated from law school, he served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Justice Nathan B. Coats of the Colorado Supreme Court.
