Messrs. Chaikovksy and Jacobs are widely recognized for guiding major clients to success in high-stakes, technology-focused IP disputes. Also joining the team are of counsel Stuart Bartow, Philip Ou, and Hong Lin, who will be based in Palo Alto and Christina Ondrick, Robert Walters and Charles Hawkins, who will be based in Washington, D.C. They join from McDermott, Will & Emery, where they were partners.

Mr. Chaikovsky serves as lead counsel for companies in all stages of development, from start-ups to established industry leaders. His practice is focused on software, digital, and Internet-related businesses, and he has also litigated in technology fields as diverse as semiconductors, handsets, networking, hardware, communications, video compression, consumer electronics, analog devices, and medical devices. In this role, he has successfully handled major jury trials and ITC proceedings. He is recognized as one of the top patent trial lawyers in the U.S. At Paul Hastings, he will serve as vice chair of the Global IP practice.

 

Mr. Jacobs is an experienced first-chair trial lawyer who focuses on bet-the-company patent and trade secret disputes spanning all areas of intellectual property law. He has tried numerous jury trials and argued more than 20 cases before the federal courts of appeal. Mr. Jacobs has also litigated extensively before the ITC, successfully representing both complainants and respondents in Section 337 investigations. He has been recognized as a top U.S. practitioner both at the ITC and for his district court and Federal Circuit practice. His practice encompasses an array of technical areas, including hardware and software, semiconductors, fiber optics, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, mobile handsets, SMS technology, robotics, photolithography, and product design.
