NEW YORK—April 20, 2015 —New York law firm Tarter Krinsky & Drogin LLP is pleased to announce the addition of partners Alex Spizz and Perry L. Cohen, and Counsel Arthur Goldstein and Paul Richard Karan. The attorneys were formerly with Spizz Cohen & Serchuk, P.C.

Mr. Spizz will serve as Co-Chair of the firm’s Bankruptcy and Corporate Restructuring Practice. He focuses on bankruptcy law, corporate restructuring, debtor and creditor rights and bankruptcy litigation. A significant part of his practice deals with advising financially troubled companies and representing debtors in cross–border insolvency cases. Mr. Spizz is currently the Chapter 7 trustee of Ampal-American Israel Corporation, an investment company with holdings in the United States, Europe and Israel.

Mr. Cohen advises clients on commercial and residential real estate development, property purchases and sales, commercial real estate leasing, multi-level secured and unsecured financing arrangements and condominium and cooperative offering plan preparation. He also has experience with investment tax credit finance and other tax subsidized transactions for affordable housing sectors.

Mr. Goldstein represents corporate debtors, creditors and other parties in Chapter 11 restructuring and out-of-court workouts, and also represents Chapter 7 & 11 trustees. He advises Chapter 11 debtors in all aspects of a successful reorganization, including negotiating and implementing debtor-in-possession financing and cash collateral agreements and confirmation of reorganization plans. He handles out-of-court restructuring procedures, prosecuting and defending asset recovery and avoidance litigation, claims litigation, executory contract and unexpired lease litigation, and Rule 2004 investigations.

Mr. Karan guides clients in all phases of sophisticated personal and succession planning, estate and trust administration, and estate and gift tax matters. He handles audits, court proceedings and high-profile estate and trust litigation. He also represents clients in the negotiation and preparation of complex prenuptial agreements.
