WILTON MANORS, FL – June 3, 2015 – Recognized throughout Florida as a leading voice in the marital equality movement, attorney and mediator Christopher W. Rumbold today announced the opening of his new law firm, the Law Office of Christopher W. Rumbold, focusing on traditional and same-sex marital and family law. The firm is located at 2301 Wilton Drive, Suite 3C, in Wilton Manors, Florida.

For more than a decade, Rumbold has focused primarily on traditional high income/high net worth family law litigation. The legal services provided by the Law Office of Christopher W. Rumbold will include: dissolution of marriage; prenuptial, postnuptial and cohabitation agreements; timesharing, alimony, spousal and child support; injunctive relief for domestic/repeat/dating/sexual violence; and paternity issues.  He is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator.

Rumbold is a frequent author and lecturer, most recently co-authoring “friend of the court” briefs in support of marital and family equality on behalf of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), Florida Chapter; and the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar. He co-presented “Post Tenebras Lux? The Evolution, Recognition, and Application of Marital Equality” before the AAML Florida Chapter Institute.

“With the impending ruling on marriage equality from the Supreme Court of the United States, I truly believe this is the optimal time to open up my law firm,” Rumbold said. “In addition to my experience in traditional matrimonial and family law litigation and mediation, the Supreme Court decision, whether in favor of marital equality or state rights, will open up a myriad of opportunities – and challenges – for same-sex couples. My experience in this arena can help couples navigate whatever may lie ahead.”

Before opening his own firm, Rumbold was a Partner at Gladstone & Weissman, P.A., a Senior Associate at Heller & Chames, P.A., and an Assistant Public Defender in Palm Beach. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2002.

Rumbold is AV Preeminent Rated by Martindale Hubbell for 2015; a member of the National Association of Distinguished Counsel (top 1% of attorneys nationwide) for 2015; SuperLawyers for 2013-2015; a SuperLawyers “Rising Star” for 2011-2012; Avvo rated “Superb” (10 out of 10) for 2015; and he received the the Chair’s “Special Recognition Award” from the Family Law Section 2012 and 2014.
