The elevation of Tim and the addition of five new attorneys demonstrate the continued success of the Firm whose masthead spans three generations of practicing lawyers.

Timothy Yoo

Before joining Bird Marella, Mr. Yoo served as Senior Litigation Counsel for the largest entertainment and media conglomerate in Korea, where he managed international disputes involving intellectual property licensing, copyright and trademark infringement, resulting in multiple arbitration awards in favor of his client and reduced risk exposure by millions of dollars. Mr. Yoo is fluent in Korean and is an active member of the Korean American Bar Association of Southern California, as well as the International Association of Korean Lawyers.  He received his Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law and obtained his Bachelor of Science from the California Institute of Technology. Prior to joining Bird Marella, he was associated with WilmerHale.

Ashley Bowman

Ashley Bowman has experience successfully representing clients in white collar investigations, medical malpractice, wrongful death and employee wage and hour class action suits. She received her Juris Doctor from Stanford Law School with pro bono distinction and her Bachelor of Arts from Yale University cum laude. She is admitted to practice in the State of California and the United States Immigration Court. Prior to joining Bird Marella, Ms. Bowman was associated with O’Melveny & Myers, LLP.

Julian Burns

Julian Burns has complex commercial litigation experience in federal and state court with an emphasis in white collar and regulatory defense, antitrust and securities matters. She received her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School cum laude where she was the recipient of the Dean’s Scholar Prizes and the editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Gender. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Wellesley College cum laude. Prior to joining Bird Marella, Ms. Burns was associated with Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP.

Kimberley Miller

Kimberley Miller joins Bird Marella with extensive experience defending individuals and corporations in connection with white collar criminal matters, internal investigations and complex commercial litigation. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, as well as the University of Washington where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree. Prior to joining Bird Marella, Ms. Miller was associated with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP.

Fanxi Wang

Fanxi Wang has represented U.S. and international companies in complex civil matters, including securities and M&A litigation, products liability and false advertising class actions. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oxford, where she obtained the highest academic achievement, First Class Honors. She is also fluent in Chinese. Prior to joining Bird Marella, Ms. Wang was associated with Sullivan & Cromwell, LLP.

Andrew Moshirnia

Andrew Moshirnia has served as a law clerk in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit as well as the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. He received his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School magna cum laude, where he was editor of the Harvard Law Review and Harvard Journal of Law & Technology. He obtained a Ph.D. in Educational Technology with a concentration in Statistics from the University of Kansas and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining Bird Marella, Mr. Moshirnia was associated with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, LLP.
