CHICAGO, March 21 -- The global law firm Jones Day today announced that Michael Conway has joined as a partner in the Firm's Financial Institutions Litigation & Regulation (FILR) Practice, and will be based in its Chicago Office. "Mike is a terrific trial lawyer with a sterling track record in financial disputes and other matters of great interest to our clients," said Tina Tabacchi, Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day's Chicago Office. "We are delighted to welcome Mike -- our sixth lateral partner addition since last March -- to the Firm."

Mr. Conway has represented private equity firms and other clients in post-closing disputes following the purchase and sale of businesses. Mr. Conway also won a trial victory in derivative litigation filed against the officers and directors of a closely held business by minority shareholders.

"Mike has proved his mettle in dozens of trials and arbitrations across the country, addressing numerous sophisticated financial disputes," said Jay Tambe, co-head Jones Day's FILR Practice. "He is a great addition to our multidisciplinary, global team handling the intricacies of sophisticated financial products, and guiding clients through the litigation and regulatory uncertainties they face with the myriad of ever-changing rules affecting financial institutions around the world."

In addition to his substantial financial litigation practice, Mr. Conway has handled a number of lawsuits involving disputes over the ownership and control of large closely held or family-owned businesses and has litigated cases in a host of other disciplines, including intellectual property, class action defense, antitrust, securities, employment litigation, and sports law. His extensive commercial litigation practice includes advising clients and litigating cases involving noncompetition covenants and trade secret issues.
