CHICAGO (MARCH 26, 2020) – Winston & Strawn LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Dan Blouin—a veteran commercial litigation and class action defense attorney—as a partner in the firm’s Chicago office. Over the span of his 31-year career, Dan has handled more than 75 class actions in federal and state courts.  He has extensive experience in multi-district litigation and has served as national coordinating counsel in many high-stakes matters.  His clients span a range of industries including retail, health care, transportation, financial services, insurance, and manufacturing.

According to Winston’s Chicago Managing Partner Linda Coberly, “Dan is a highly skilled litigator with deep experience in exactly the kind of litigation that has always been our bread and butter—complex, high-stakes cases that require creativity and business sense.  Clients rely on him to manage complex litigation efficiently and cost-effectively, and look to him for his expertise in their specific businesses and industries, particularly in times of uncertainty.”

Before joining Winston, Dan was the chair of Seyfarth Shaw’s class action practice. He is also a certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt.

“Winston & Strawn has a well-deserved reputation as a litigation powerhouse,” said Dan. “I know my clients – many of whom I’ve worked with for more than 25 years – will benefit from the firm’s remarkable team of litigators across the globe, as well as the breadth and depth of Winston’s Transactions capabilities in key industry sectors.”

“Dan is an incredibly effective litigator, and his leadership will be a tremendous asset to our clients who find themselves in the crosshairs of major class actions and other complex commercial litigation matters around the country,” said Winston Chairman Tom Fitzgerald.
