NEW YORK – Sullivan & Cromwell LLP announced today that Karen Patton Seymour will rejoin the Firm as a partner and member of the Litigation Practice and Criminal Defense and Investigations Group, resident in New York.

Ms. Seymour is rejoining from Goldman Sachs where she served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary since 2018. In addition to being a member of Goldman Sachs’ management committee, she advised “Launch with GS,” Goldman Sachs’ $500 million commitment to narrow the gender investing gap. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Ms. Seymour was a partner at Sullivan & Cromwell for 13 years and held several roles at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, including as chief of the Criminal Division, where she oversaw all criminal investigations and prosecutions for the district.
