Susman Godfrey is pleased to announce the 2024 Susman Godfrey Prize winners: 20 law school students of color who have demonstrated academic excellence and overall achievement. The Prize is open to students of color from eligible law schools who are finishing their first or second year of law school and who have been nominated by a law school professor or administrator. The winners receive $3,500 and ongoing mentorship from Susman Godfrey’s partners and associates.

The Susman Godfrey Prize launched in 2021. This year, as part of its ongoing commitment to enhance diversity within the legal profession, Susman Godfrey expanded the program to recognize 20 recipients from 12 recipients in years past and increased the award prize from $3,000 to $3,500.

SG Prize nominees are evaluated based on their resumes, transcripts, and letters of recommendation. After being narrowed down to a group of finalists, winners are selected after being interviewed by a team of lawyers from the firm. This year’s 20 winners were selected from a group of 60 nominees.

“We’re honored to continue the Susman Godfrey Prize program for a fourth year,” said co-Managing Partner Vineet Bhatia. “We hope it continues to encourage diverse lawyers to pursue careers in civil litigation.”

Susman Godfrey co-Managing Partner Kalpana Srinivasan added, “We are delighted to recognize this year’s Prize recipients, all of whom exemplify values of integrity, leadership, and academic excellence. Our 2024 recipients have bright futures ahead of them. We hope this recognition is a rewarding step forward in their legal careers.”
