HOUSTON. August 31, 2025 – Beck Redden LLP is heartbroken to share the news that our partner, Alistair Byrne Dawson, died unexpectedly on August 30, 2025.

Alistair was a pillar of the legal community and a distinguished trial lawyer. Among his innumerable contributions and accolades, he was a former President of the Houston Bar Association, Chairman of the Texas Bar Foundation, Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

Alistair was deeply committed to pro bono matters and community service, including as a member of the Board of Directors for the Houston Volunteer Lawyers, Lone Star Legal Aid, and as a Commissioner on the Texas Equal Access to Justice Commission. Through his fervent support for these causes and numerous charities, Alistair left a lasting legacy.

Beyond his professional and civic achievements, first and foremost Alistair was a devoted husband to his wife Wendy, a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle, and a loyal mentor, partner, and friend. He cherished his family, friends, and our law firm, and he will be dearly missed. Additional information regarding memorial arrangements will be provided when it is available.
