Before entering legal recruiting in 2004, Binstock practiced intellectual property law at Finnegan Henderson, an IP boutique in Washington, DC. He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from American University, Washington College of Law, where he served as an editor on the International Law Review, and his undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Maryland.
