For over two decades, Shauna Itri has led litigation teams in complex fraud cases in both state and federal courts. Itri’s nationwide practice encompasses class action securities and consumer matters, representing people and families who have been injured by dangerous and defective medical device and pharmaceuticals, and has also taken on harmful data and privacy breaches. She also brings extensive experience representing whistleblowers in False Claims Act lawsuits, as well as tax and securities whistleblowers with claims under the IRS and SEC whistleblower programs—helping to bring wrongdoing in corporations and government to light and assisting in obtaining rewards for those who bravely risk exposing those wrongs.

From the start of her legal career, Itri was drawn to representing plaintiffs because of her deep-seated notions of fairness and her desire to represent individuals seeking to bring corporate fraud to light. She ascribes her success in complex litigation to spotting and exposing the array of tactics that defendants often use to obscure the truth. Itri’s calm and deliberate approach colors the work of her litigation teams, even under the most demanding and time-pressured conditions. Using her legal skills, vision, relentless work ethic, and attention to detail, her litigation teams have generated several billions of dollars in settlements for her clients.

Itri has played central roles in litigation at all levels of court and across the country. She was most recently appointed to the Plaintiff’s Executive Committee in the AT&T Inc Customer Data Security Breach Litigation by the Honorable Judge Ada Brown of the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division. This litigation consolidates dozens of class action lawsuits stemming from a data breach which leaked the personal information of a million AT&T customers. She was also appointed as interim co-lead counsel in the Cencora Data Security Breach class action by Judge Cynthia Rufe of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Itri was part of the Seeger Weiss trial team in the “Clean Diesel” Fraud Litigation, which resulted in a $14.7 billion settlement, the largest auto-related consumer class-action settlement in U.S. history. She was integral to the eDiscovery and Discovery efforts of the Philips Recalled CPAP, Bi-Level Pap, and Mechanical Ventilator Litigation which resulted in a $1.075 billion personal injury settlement, a $550+ million economic loss settlement, and a $25 million medical monitoring settlement, substantially compensating some 60,000 patients who used this common medical device. Previously, Itri has also served as lead counsel in multiple qui tam lawsuits including, US ex rel. Gale v. Omnicare, Inc., No. 1:10-cv-0127 (N.D. Ohio) (settled weeks before trial for $120 million); US ex rel. Silver v. Pharmerica et al., No. 11-cv-01326 (D.N.J.) (before moving firms drove discovery strategy; she argued and secured a reversal of a dismissal motion before the Third Circuit). Itri served as lead attorney in United States ex rel. Doe v. Covidien et al. helping secure a $13 million False Claims Act settlement. She also represented one of the whistleblowers in a case against Renaissance RX, helping secure a $42.6 million settlement and a 25-year ban from federal healthcare programs for this dishonest pharmaceutical provider. It should be noted that her prior results do not guarantee or predict a similar outcome with respect to any future matter.

Before becoming an attorney, Itri received a B.A. and an M.A. from Stanford University, where she was two-time captain of the University’s women’s nationally ranked soccer team. She received her J.D. from Villanova University. Itri is a Board Member at the Public Interest Law Center, an organization that uses litigation, education, and advocacy to advance the rights of communities in the Philadelphia region facing discrimination, inequality, and poverty.

Itri is an avid volunteer and educator, having served as an adjunct professor at Villanova University (2011-2013) and Widener Law School (2013-2018), teaching corporate deviance courses. She is co-chair of Stanford University Alumni Undergraduate Admissions Volunteer Interview Program and is a past President of the Junior League of Philadelphia, Inc. Itri also works for the improvement of the legal profession by participating in ongoing leadership and educational organizations. She focuses on electronic discovery and is a member and regular speaker at Working Group 1 of the Sedona Conference.
