DENVER, Colo. (April 1, 2013)Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that Michael R. Henson has joined the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice as a Partner in the Denver office.  He was previously a Partner at Holland & Hart LLP.  Henson is the second partner to join the firm’s Denver office in the past month; Brian Kinnear joined on March 18, 2013.


Henson’s extensive patent and trademark prosecution and litigation experience provides clients with exceptional solutions to their sophisticated intellectual property needs.  His clients include a diverse array of technology companies for whom he has handled intellectual property procurement, transactional, and enforcement matters in the United States and abroad. Henson has experience in all phases of  patent, trademark and other types of intellectual property law, including appeals before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences, and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Henson received his J.D. from the University of Denver, College of Law, where he was a member of the Patent Law Society, and his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University.  He is licensed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.  Prior to his legal career, Henson worked as a co-op engineer in the steel industry.  He also worked for the Central Intelligence Agency while pursuing his undergraduate degree.
