NEW YORK, NY (July 18, 2013) – Golenbock Eiseman Assor Bell & Peskoe LLP is pleased to announce that Martin S. Siegel is joining the firm as partner in its Litigation/Alternative Dispute Resolution and Complex Business Fraud Litigation practice groups, effective July 1, 2013.  Mr. Siegel’s practice concentrates on complex commercial, business, securities and bankruptcy litigation.  He joins Golenbock from the firm of Brown Rudnick LLP and its predecessor, Berlack Israels & Liberman, where he was a partner and an attorney for over the past three decades.  Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Siegel was an attorney at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission as a Trial Attorney and spent three years as Chief Attorney, Brand of Enforcement, in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s New York Regional Office.

Mr. Siegel has litigated cases in more than a dozen different jurisdictions around the country, litigating substantial commercial disputes in various federal and state courts and arbitration forums.  He represents his clients in a wide range of claims, including:  breach of contract, partnership and employment disputes, restrictive covenant cases, real estate, insurance, medical and dental products and intellectual property.  Mr. Siegel also regularly litigates an expansive range of bankruptcy matters on behalf of unsecured creditors, equity holders, indentured trustees and debtors, including fraudulent conveyance, preference and lender liability issues. 

Additionally, Mr. Siegel prosecutes claims involving securities fraud, Mergers & Acquisitions, Ponzi schemes and other securities related issues.  Clients of Mr. Siegel include institutional and other sophisticated investors, public companies and stock brokerage firms, along with officers and directors in securities class actions and related matters, witnesses and targets in SEC and other enforcement cases, Audit Committees of public companies in conducting internal investigations under Sarbanes-Oxley, as well as respondents and claimants in FINRA and AAA arbitrations and stockbrokers on Promissory Note claims by former firms.

Mr. Siegel received his B.A. in accounting from Hunter College of the City of New York in 1966.  He received his J.D., cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School in 1968 where he was on the Brooklyn Law Review.  He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits, the U.S. District Courts and the Southern and Eastern District Court of New York.
