SAN FRANCISCO — July 18, 2013 — Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, announced that Dr. Nancy McGee has joined the firm’s San Francisco office as a managing director with Manatt Health Solutions (MHS), the firm’s interdisciplinary policy and business advisory division. Dr. McGee comes to Manatt from a firm focused on reimbursement issues, Lash Group, where she served as a senior vice president and chief operating officer.

During her decade long tenure with Lash Group, Dr. McGee led a portfolio of over 100 programs, three office locations and more than 3,000 associates. She counseled clients regarding reimbursement support, patient assistance, patient education and adherence, advocacy and case management services and programs. She focused on identifying opportunities to develop creative strategies and tactical approaches for specific products by analyzing policy, industry and distribution trends. Lash Group is a part of AmerisourceBergen Corporation, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical services companies.

“Nancy is a highly respected industry expert on the subject of reimbursement, particularly in helping create effective coverage and payment strategies and developing innovative approaches to address payer and patient access issues,” said William Bernstein, chair of Manatt’s Healthcare Division.  “Her multifaceted experience perfectly aligns with healthcare client needs at a time when cost management is of critical importance.”

Prior to joining Lash Group, Dr. McGee was vice president of reimbursement for The Lewin Group, a nationally recognized healthcare consulting firm. Dr. McGee led both the reimbursement strategic consulting practice and the reimbursement support service lines.

“Manatt is well-known for having one of the country’s leading healthcare practices, working at the forefront of industry reform,” Dr. McGee said. “The interdisciplinary practice structure and integrated approach to client service are what drew me to the firm. I look forward to working with the impressive MHS team to advise pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies on the complex issues brought on by the extraordinary pace of change in the sector.”

Dr. McGee has a DrPH from University of North Carolina’s Gillings School of Global Public Health, an MPH from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health and a JD from Hamline University School of Law.
