August 8, 2013 (New York) – Global law firm Proskauer represented the United States Golf Association (USGA) in a major media rights deal with FOX Sports. The terms of the new agreement, beginning in 2015, include rights to the United States Open Championship, the United States Women’s Open Championship, the United States Senior Open Championship and various other USGA championships.
 


The Proskauer team was led by Joseph M. Leccese, Chairman of the Firm and co-head of its Sports Law Group, Partner Jon H. Oram and Associates Frank A. Saviano and Ted Tywang.
 
The USGA deal comes on the heels of Proskauer’s recent representation of NASCAR in its media rights agreements with NBCUniversal and FOX Sports and the Big East Conference in its media rights agreement with FOX Sports.
