NEW HAVEN, CT – January 16, 2014 – Lawyers Without Borders (“LWOB”), an international not-for-profit focused on promoting rule of law through global sustainable programming, announced today the appointment of Justin H. Perl to its executive board of directors.

Mr. Perl currently serves as a partner with the litigation group of Minneapolis-based Maslon Edelman Borman & Brand, LLP, where he chairs the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group and serves on the firm’s Governance Committee. He received his J.D. and B.S. degrees from the University of Michigan.

Before joining the executive board of directors, Mr. Perl volunteered to travel to Windhoek Namibia where he attended an ongoing trial as an international observer for LWOB. In addition to a financial contribution, executive board members donate their time and expertise to support the organization’s mission.

“LWOB’s ability to harness resources and engage civil society in globally oriented and collaborative pro bono efforts first attracted me to get involved with LWOB. I look forward to helping further the LWOB mission,” said Mr. Perl.

“Justin has the characteristics you look for in a board member. His focus is on the growth of our organization and support of its financial health. His is not a personal agenda, but one focused, as we all are at LWOB, on rule of law, giving back and being part of something bigger than himself.” said Christina Storm, founder of LWOB.  “Furthermore, LWOB has key relationships in greater Minnesota, so we are excited to now have a member of our board from the region”

LWOB welcomes individuals who share LWOB’s vision. To support LWOB’s work globally, donate via the Network for Good donation button found at the LWOB website:  www.lwob.org.

“Leveraging the generous commitment of our volunteers, donors and board members, we are able to make a real difference in local communities around the world. I welcome additions to the board who are committed to supporting our mission to develop and provide legal support on projects and initiatives in the human rights and global capacity building sectors,” added Storm.
