LOS ANGELES, CA – The trusts and estates litigation law firm Sacks, Glazier, Franklin & Lodise LLP has appointed Matthew W. McMurtrey as the firm’s new managing partner. Mr. McMurtrey takes over from co-founder Kenneth M. Glazier who is relinquishing his responsibilities after serving in the role for 13 years.

“Matt is an excellent mentor to the firm’s attorneys and a tremendous asset to the firm. I am thrilled he will continue his leadership by stepping into this role,” said Mr. Glazier. “His in-depth expertise and dedication to our clients will serve as pillars for the firm’s solid foundation and continued growth.”

“It is an honor to be the managing partner of this firm,” said Mr. McMurtrey. “Ken has done a remarkable job in this role.  And let there be no mistake.  Because Ken is irreplaceable, I am not replacing Ken—I am only succeeding him.”

Mr. McMurtrey joined the firm in 2001 and became a partner in January 2012. He specializes in probate litigation with an emphasis on trusts and estates. He has successfully tried matters before the Probate Department of the Superior Court and has appeared as appellate counsel throughout California. He has also handled several matters before the California Court of Appeal, resulting in multiple published appellate decisions.

Mr. McMurtrey obtained his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law and a B.A. from the University of California, Riverside. He is an active member of the legal community, including serving on the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Trusts and Estates Section.
