Irvine, CA–JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, announced today that its Board of Directors elected Linda R. Singer, Esq. Board Chair, effective May, 2014. Singer will replace Bruce A. Edwards, Esq., who has served as Chairman since May, 2011. The Board’s election was made during one of its quarterly meetings earlier this month in San Francisco.

“Linda is a pioneer in the area of alternative dispute resolution and brings strong ADR expertise to her new role,” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO. “We are thrilled to have her as our incoming Chairwoman and look forward to working with her in that capacity to continue to provide the best neutrals and ADR services worldwide.”

Based in Washington, D.C., Singer is an award-‐winning, nationally known neutral. She has more than 30 years of dispute resolution experience as an arbitrator, mediator, civil litigator, trainer and neutral evaluator. She has served as a special master to the U.S. District Court, S.D.N.Y. and as a mediator in numerous federal and state courts throughout the country.  In addition, she was instrumental in the development of mediation as a practice, training fellow mediators and lawyers throughout the world.  She has designed ADR processes for private companies, court systems, and government agencies.  In recognition of her leadership and outstanding service in the ADR field, Singer along with her spouse and fellow mediator, Michael K. Lewis Esq., received the 2012 D’Alemberte-‐Raven Award from American BarAssociation’s Section of Dispute Resolution.

“I am honored to serve as Chairwoman of JAMS,” said Singer. “In this role, I look forward to partnering with JAMS neutrals and associates to continue to advance the delivery of high quality mediation, arbitration and other conflict resolution services.”
