WASHINGTON, D.C., March 3, 2014 — Goodwin Procter, a national Am Law 50 firm, announced today that Michele Rose has joined the firm’s Securities Litigation & White Collar Defense Group as a partner in its Washington, D.C. office. She comes to Goodwin from Latham & Watkins where she was a partner in Washington, D.C.

At Goodwin, Rose will focus on securities and corporate litigation and SEC enforcement and regulatory defense. As a litigator with more than 20 years’ experience, Rose has successfully defended more than 50 securities class, derivative and M&A actions in federal and state courts across the country and conducted numerous internal investigations. She also counsels clients on disclosure obligations, fiduciary duties and financial crisis management.

Rose has held a number of leadership positions throughout her career. She is co-chair of the Securities Litigation Subcommittee of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association. She is also an active speaker and panelist on securities law and corporate governance issues, lecturing at Practising Law Institute and other seminars on topics such as securities litigation following Dodd-Frank, responding to corporate crises, and potential securities law exposures for new public companies.

She served three years as the lateral hiring partner for Latham’s D.C. office and was also that firm’s D.C. office representative on the EEO Committee, investigating and resolving workplace EEO issues. Rose was an active member of Latham’s Women Enriching Business initiative, designed to increase opportunities for women at the firm. Prior to Latham, Rose was with Wilson Sonsini in Palo Alto, where she was one of three partners to open Wilson’s initial East Coast office in 2000.
