CLEVELAND (May 22, 2014) – Ulmer & Berne LLP announces the addition of David D. Black as a partner in the firm’s Cleveland office.

Mr. Black has a broad range of experience and serves as general outside counsel for a number of businesses in Northeast Ohio and beyond. His practice is focused on closely held corporations with emphasis on governance, transactions, and finance. Mr. Black has represented clients with respect to numerous mergers and acquisitions, including stock purchases entered into to preserve licenses and other rights held by the target business. He is listed in The Bond Buyer’s Municipal Marketplace (“The Red Book”) and has advised clients with respect to the issuance of over $200 million in exempt securities over the past several years.

In addition to his corporate practice, Mr. Black routinely represents lenders and borrowers with respect to commercial loans for acquisitions, working capital, and real estate development and has significant experience representing both lenders and borrowers with respect to troubled debt restructuring.  Mr. Black has been actively involved with Cleveland International Fund, Ltd. since its inception; Cleveland International Fund, Ltd. was named as the 2013 EB-5 Regional Center of the year by its trade group, Invest in the USA.
