SAN DIEGO, CA (June 11, 2014) – Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing workplace law firms, is pleased to announce David G. Hoiles, Jr. has assumed the role of San Diego office Managing Shareholder, succeeding Craig A. Schloss.

Mr. Hoiles began his career with Jackson Lewis over 13 years ago, first as an Associate and subsequently a Shareholder in the firm’s Los Angeles office.  He regularly represents employers in all types of employment litigation, including matters involving claims of sexual harassment, unlawful employment discrimination and retaliation, failure to provide reasonable accommodations, breach of employment contract, intentional tort, misappropriation of trade secrets and unfair competition.  He also has significant experience defending employers in wage and hour litigation, including representative and class action lawsuits.  Mr. Hoiles practices both in state and federal court and before such tribunals as the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing and the California Department of Industrial Relations – Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.  In addition to his skills as a litigator, he has substantial experience counseling clients on a variety of employment-related issues and conducts training seminars, including sexual harassment prevention training.

Mr. Hoiles is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern, Central and Eastern Districts of California as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  He is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the State Bar of California and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

Mr. Hoiles received his B.A. in International Relations, cum laude, and paralegal certificate from the University of San Diego in 1991.  He received his J.D. from Loyola Law School – Los Angeles in 1996.
