September 3, 2014 LOS ANGELES – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, today announced the addition of Hon. Rex Heeseman (Ret). He will be based in the JAMS Los Angeles Resolution Center and serve as an arbitrator, mediator and special master in a variety of disputes including Business/Commercial, Construction Defect, Employment, Insurance, Personal Injury/Torts and Real Property.

Most recently, Judge Heeseman served on the Los Angeles County Superior Court for nearly 10 years. As a judge, he presided over 93 jury trials and adjudicated more than 100 bench trials. He also has conducted hundreds of Mandatory Settlement Conferences, chaired the Court’s ADR operations and has a long history of resolving disputes, either by settlement or ruling. Prior to his time on the bench, he spent more than 30 years representing a wide variety of clients while in civil law practice.

Judge Heeseman received his B.A. from Claremont McKenna College and his J.D. from Stanford Law School. He has co-­‐authored a leading insurance treatise and is an adjunct professor, legal commenter and distinguished public speaker.
