March 23, 2015, Washington, D.C.…Latham & Watkins LLP1 is pleased to announce Casey Dwyer has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as a partner in the Litigation Department. She is an experienced patent litigator whose practice focuses primarily in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries. Dwyer follows the recent addition of Michael Morin and David Frazier to the Washington, D.C. office and Intellectual Property Litigation Practice who also have particular experience in pharmaceutical and biologics cases.

Dwyer litigates patent disputes in the branded pharmaceutical and medical device arena, in cases involving some of the world’s best-selling drugs.  She has a history of developing litigation strategies for clients that combine her technical background and understanding of complex issues with experience in pharmaceutical and medical device patent litigation. She is also a skilled oral advocate, with substantial trial and arbitration experience. In addition, Dwyer has advised clients on intellectual property licensing and publishing activities, and has taught in these areas as well.

Dwyer joins the firm from Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP in Washington, D.C. She earned a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a J.D., cum laude, from Duke University School of Law.
