LOS ANGELES, CA (April 2, 2015) Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing workplace law firms, is pleased to announce Frank E. Melton has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office as Shareholder.  Mr. Melton, who joins Jackson Lewis from Littler, has spent his entire career practicing in the area of labor and employment law.

“Frank is well-known in Los Angeles County for his well-rounded practice and strong ties to the employer community, and we are pleased to welcome him to the firm,” said Lawrence H. Stone, Managing Shareholder of the firm’s Los Angeles office.  “He has been representing employers throughout the state and nationally for more than three decades, and his varied experience makes him a quality asset to our firm’s robust Southern California practice.”

Mr. Melton, who represents employers in a wide variety of industries, litigates claims involving discrimination, retaliation and harassment; wrongful discharge; wage and hour issues, including class actions; and trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition and violation of restrictive covenants.

Mr. Melton also provides advice on day-to-day and compliance issues to employers, including in matters involving employee terminations and disciplinary actions; leave of absence and disability accommodation issues; wage and hour, privacy and drug testing issues; and employment-related documents such as agreements, employee handbooks and policies.

Mr. Melton, who has been selected for inclusion in Southern California Super Lawyers from 2007-2015, is on the Board of Directors for Bet Tzedek Legal Services.  He is a member of the Labor & Employment Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Professionals in Human Resources Association and ProVisors.

Mr. Melton earned his B.A. in Political and Economic Systems, summa cum laude, from Yale College and received his J.D. from Stanford Law School.
