Palo Alto, 12 January 2016 Mayer Brown announced today that David Wang has joined the firm’s Intellectual Property practice as a partner in Palo Alto. Previously, he was a partner with Winston & Strawn LLP in that firm’s Silicon Valley office.

“David is a well-known IP litigator with a strong track record of handling large, complex patent litigation matters and an impressive background in electrical engineering and high technology, both of which will enable the firm to better serve technology and life sciences companies in Silicon Valley and beyond,” said John Mancini, co-leader of the firm’s global Intellectual Property practice.

“David’s extensive experience in representing companies in Asia—particularly those based in Japan, Taiwan and China—on US patent litigation matters further expands the depth and breadth of Mayer Brown’s rapidly-growing global IP capabilities,” added Alan Grimaldi, co-leader of Mayer Brown’s global Intellectual Property practice.

Mr. Wang focuses his practice on patent infringement litigation, trade secret litigation, and adversarial patent licensing negotiations. He handles high-stakes patent infringement matters before various courts, the Federal Circuit and the International Trade Commission in Section 337 actions. Mr. Wang has experience representing clients in a wide range of technologies including: electronics, digital and analog circuits, software, semiconductor devices, semiconductor processes, memory chips, circuit emulation, power circuits, computers, servers, disk drives, robotics, high definition TV, plasma and LCD displays, DVD players, optics, optical communication products, routers, lasers, wireless communication devices and protocols, mobile phones, base stations, microprocessors, network switches, 802.11 devices, silicon on substrate devices, bar code scanners, medical devices, catheters, surgical tools, ultrasound imaging machines, MRI machines, pacemakers, defibrillators, MEMS devices, RFID, organic semiconductors and chemicals.

Mr. Wang earned a JD from the University of Southern California School of Law. He received BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California.
