CHICAGO – Riley Safer Holmes & Cancila LLP (RSHC) welcomes new partner Kimberly Paschall to the firm’s White Collar, Investigations & Compliance practice. Kim joins the firm following almost nine years with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Washington, D.C., where she most recently served as Assistant U.S. Attorney, assigned to the National Security Section of the Criminal Division.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kim to RSHC as a partner in our White Collar, Investigations & Compliance team,” said RSHC Managing Partner Patricia Brown Holmes. “Kim joins a growing team, which includes a deep bench of lawyers spanning decades of experience, including six other partners who are also former federal prosecutors. Kim adds her unique experience as a recent employee of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. Kim’s addition reflects our ongoing strategic growth—not only to ensure we continue to meet the complex needs of our clients, but also to invest in building a strong pipeline of talent for the future.”

“We are so happy to have Kim join our dynamic group of skilled trial lawyers and investigators, particularly as our White Collar team is transitioning leadership to include Deputies Kalia Coleman and Abbie Peluso,” said Matt Crowl, Team Leader, White Collar, Investigations & Compliance. RSHC is nationally ranked for white collar criminal defense by Chambers USA 2025 and the 2024 U.S. News – Best Lawyers® “Best Law Firms” list. In 2025, Legal industry consultants BTI Consulting Group honored the firm with a BTI Client Service A-Team 2025 ranking (a 260-firm list).

"As a former federal prosecutor and trial attorney at heart, I feel like I hit the jackpot by joining RSHC.” said Kim. “I am joining a skilled team of like-minded attorneys, working on some of the most interesting cases for the best clients. I am ready to dive into the work and grow our White Collar, Investigations & Compliance team to meet the challenges our clients face today and in the future."

While at the U.S. Attorney’s office, Kim led trial teams through multiple federal juries and bench trials, and briefed and argued dozens of evidentiary and legal motions. While serving as an Assistant U.S. Attorney assigned to the National Security Section of the Criminal Division, she prosecuted export control and sanctions violations, espionage matters, terrorism cases, and other crimes that affected our nation’s security. Previously, she was also assigned to the Capital Siege Section, the Violent Crimes and NarcoticsTrafficking Section, and the Federal Major Crimes Section of the Criminal Division, the Special Proceedings Division, and the Superior Court Division.

Kim earned her undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.
