New York – June 25, 2014 – The national law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that Alan Kaufman has joined the firm's Litigation Practice as a partner in the New York office. Mr. Kaufman joins Hinshaw from McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP.

Mr. Kaufman has successfully litigated complex, commercial cases in New York and New Jersey state and federal courts. His practice involves a wide range of matters, including business tort disputes; breach of contract actions; mortgage, mortgage-backed securities and real estate related litigation; creditors' rights matters, intellectual property infringement; insurance coverage disputes; and appeals.

Alan strives to partner with his clients to reach the best resolution possible from both a legal and business perspective, making him an excellent fit with the firm's philosophy and culture.

Mr. Kaufman is active in the New York City Bar Association, serving as a member of the In-House/Outside Counsel Litigation Group. He is also a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and serves on the Enforcement Committee for the International Trademark Association.

He was recognized as a "Rising Star" by the New York Metro Super Lawyers Magazine for 2013 and 2014.

Prior to his time with McKenna Long, Mr. Kaufman served as an Associate with Thacher Proffitt & Wood LLP. Mr. Kaufman earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and earned his B.A. from Brandeis University. He is admitted in state and federal courts in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
